Privacy Policy
In short
- ZD Terminal is an internal tool of Z D LLC ("ZandD", "we") for its members.
- Your trading data stays on ZandD's own server. The app talks only to that server.
- No ads, no analytics, no tracking, no third-party SDKs, and we never sell or share data for advertising.
- You can remove the app's data at any time by deleting the app; ask your ZandD administrator to delete server data.
1. Who we are
ZD Terminal is developed and operated by Z D LLC for the research and paper trading of ZandD members. Questions about this policy: your ZandD administrator.
2. What the app stores on your device
- Connection settings: the address of ZandD's ZD Terminal server and the access token used to reach it.
- Cached views: recent copies of screens such as the market overview, daily plans and paper account, so the app opens without a connection.
- Preferences: for example colour mode and the last page you viewed.
This data stays in the app's private storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes it.
3. What ZandD's server stores
The ZD Terminal server runs on a computer controlled by ZandD. It stores, in a local database:
- Paper trading records: simulated orders, fills, positions, journal notes, tags and risk settings that members enter.
- Market data copies: prices, news headlines, company filings and calendars downloaded from the providers in section 5.
- E-mail report settings: the recipient addresses an administrator enters for the pre-market report, and a log of sent reports.
- Technical records: the time and device type (browser or app "user agent") of the last remote connection, used to show administrators which device is paired.
We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, health or financial-account data. ZD Terminal does not connect to real brokerage accounts with real money.
4. How we use information
Only to run ZD Terminal for ZandD members: to show research and plans, keep the paper trading journal, send the reports members ask for, and keep the service secure (for example, locking access after repeated wrong tokens). We do not use it for advertising, profiling or tracking across apps or websites.
5. Third-party services the server contacts
To get market data, the server (not your phone) sends requests to these providers. The requests contain ticker symbols and dates, not your personal information, except where noted:
- Yahoo Finance: prices, charts and headlines.
- U.S. SEC EDGAR: company filings and fundamentals.
- Finnhub, Polygon, FRED (Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis): company profiles, earnings and economic calendars, when configured.
- Alpaca: a paper trading account and market data, when configured by ZandD.
- OpenAI / xAI: only when a member presses an AI button (coach, brief, critique). The request then includes the relevant statistics, positions or setup details so the model can answer. It is not used to train our own models and is subject to the provider's API data policy.
- Google Gmail (SMTP): to deliver report e-mails to the addresses a member or administrator enters.
- Tailscale: the private network between your device and ZandD's server. Traffic is end-to-end encrypted; Tailscale's coordination service sees device names and network metadata under its own privacy policy.
6. Sharing
We do not sell personal information and do not share it with data brokers or advertisers. Information leaves ZandD's server only as described in section 5, when a member chooses to e-mail a report to someone, or when required by law.
7. Security
The server only listens on its own computer. Remote devices reach it through an encrypted private network, and every remote request must carry the access token. Remote access is off by default, administrators can revoke all paired devices by issuing a new token, and repeated wrong tokens lock remote access.
8. Retention and deletion
Data on your device is kept until you delete the app. Paper trading records and settings on the server are kept while you are a ZandD member, or until you ask us to delete them. Cached market data is refreshed and replaced over time. To delete your data or get a copy of it, contact your ZandD administrator.
9. Children
ZD Terminal is for adult ZandD members and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA) you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your information and to object to certain processing. We honour these requests for all members: contact your ZandD administrator.
11. Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above and tell members in the app or by e-mail when the change is material.
