ZD Terminal is for ZandD members. You'll need an invitation from a ZandD administrator.

iPhone and iPad

  1. Install ZD Terminal from the App Store link your administrator sends (during testing: accept the TestFlight invitation and install from the TestFlight app).
  2. Install Tailscale from the App Store and sign in with the ZandD account your administrator gives you. This is the private, encrypted network to ZandD's server.
  3. Pair: on the ZD Terminal computer, open Account & Risk → iPhone app. Point the iPhone Camera at the QR code and tap Open in ZD Terminal. Or type the server address and access token into the app.
  4. Done. The app opens on the market overview. If the server is out of reach it shows the last saved data and says so.

Desktop

ZandD administrators run the ZD Terminal server on a Mac or Windows PC (./run.sh start or run.cmd start) and open it in a browser at the local address it prints. Members on the same private network can use the server's Tailscale address in a browser too.

Frequently asked

Does ZD Terminal trade real money?

No. Orders go to a simulated paper account (or an Alpaca paper account). Nothing in the app is investment advice.

Why does it say "computer is out of reach"?

The app talks only to ZandD's server. Check that Tailscale is connected on your device and that the ZD Terminal computer is on. Saved data stays visible in the meantime.

"Wrong or missing access token"

An administrator may have issued a new token, which signs out paired devices. Scan the new QR code to pair again.

"Remote access is off"

An administrator has to switch on remote access in Account & Risk → iPhone app on the ZD Terminal computer.

How fresh are prices?

Usually delayed about 15 minutes; see Data sources.

How do I delete my data?

Deleting the app removes everything stored on the device. For data on ZandD's server, contact your ZandD administrator. See the Privacy Policy.
